Ziekenhuis Amstelland accelerates its Mitz go-live with Founda

Amsterdam, September 3rd, 2026 - Ziekenhuis Amstelland has gone live with the Founda Mitz Connector, enabling patient consent registered in Mitz to be checked as part of its healthcare data availability workflows.
With strong preparation and key technical and testing requirements addressed early, the implementation effort was reduced by approximately 25%. By combining this readiness with a configuration Founda had already proven in production, Amstelland was able to move efficiently through implementation, validation and go-live.
The go-live also represents a practical step in Amstelland's wider approach to healthcare data availability, including DUO, for which Mitz has been identified as a requirement.
Integrating Mitz consent into data availability workflows
Mitz is the Dutch national consent service used to register and manage patient consent for electronic health data exchange.
The Founda Mitz Connector connects XDS workflows to Mitz so that consent can be verified before patient data is retrieved from the network. This embeds consent verification into existing data availability workflows rather than requiring it to be handled as a separate process.
For Ziekenhuis Amstelland, the implementation integrates Mitz consent verification into its existing Founda environment and data availability workflows.

Technical readiness accelerated implementation

This provided relevant implementation learnings and a proven test partner, while Amstelland maintained clear ownership of its technical requirements and testing. Together with Founda, this helped keep the implementation focused and moving efficiently toward go-live.
Since the Amstelland implementation, Founda has further streamlined the testing process for future Mitz implementations. Mitz implementation testing no longer needs to depend on coordinating with another hospital, as Founda can now act as the test partner directly. This removes an external dependency and helps streamline the implementation process.
